THE LLORONA 3.14 - english
THE LLORONA 3.14 is a fictionalized autobiography inspired by the Latin-American myth of the weeping woman (La Llorona). It tells my journey of discovering and empowering myself, expressing how I love, fear, and change. Even though THE LLORONA 3.14 does not explicitly describe my experiences as a woman born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, during a period of great violence, all songs intimate how this reality has shaped my internal life. Even personal songs about the process of getting to know myself, as a woman - like BAILE DEL RESORTE (Ball of a Spring-Elastic), ODA A LA IRA (Ode to Wrath), and CLAROSCURO (Chiaroscuro) - have an aura of violence and uncertainty. JUNKFOOD, VOLCANO, RÍOS DE SANGRE (Rivers of Blood), and LANDSCAPE are meditations about the world that surrounds me (growing up in Medellín and as a Colombian woman living in the United States). SELVA VIRGEN (Virgin Jungle) and THE WOMB mark the maternal tone of the album: a maternity that is not necessarily related to procreation but to the responsibility we human beings have for humanity. DÉJAME (Let Me), AQUÍ (Here) and OCÉANO (Ocean) are love songs, each with a very different character.

THE LLORONA 3.14 es una autobiografía ficcionalizada inspirada en el mito latinoamericano de La Llorona. Cuenta mi viaje interior de descubrimiento y empoderamiento de mí misma, de cómo amo, temo y cambio. Aunque THE LLORONA 3.14 no describe explícitamente mis experiencias como mujer que nació y creció en Medellín, Colombia durante un período de gran violencia, todas las canciones insinúan cómo esta realidad ha tallado mi vida. Incluso las canciones personales sobre autoconocimiento, tipo BAILE DEL RESORTE, ODA A LA IRA y CLAROSCURO, tienen un aura casi violenta y de gran incertidumbre. JUNKFOOD (Comida Chatarra), VOLCANO (Volcán), RÍOS DE SANGRE y LANDSCAPE (Paisaje) son meditaciones sobre el mundo que me rodea (creciendo en Medellín y como colombiana viviendo en Estados Unidos). SELVA VIRGEN y THE WOMB marcan el tono maternal del disco: una maternidad que no necesariamente está relacionada con la procreación sino con la responsabilidad que tenemos los seres humanos hacia la humanidad. DÉJAME, AQUÍ y OCÉANO son canciones de amor, cada una con un carácter muy diferente.
